The Drive for Life

Some essential questions about life: Is the drive for life a rational or natural drive? Is the rationalization of the drive for life the beginning of the road toward losing this drive, or should one succumb to that unknown force within himself called the drive for life?

I have started to believe that there is within oneself a drive for life that is as mysterious as life is, and that one should not try to suppress this drive under such excuses as rationality and conforming to predestined forms of life.  It is like letting a current of water take you wherever it is going.  Do not get off at too many stops.  Keep the train going and enrich your soul.   It can also be another way of becoming a rational being where reason lies in a mysterious force.

This way of looking at life stems from a recurrent desire for delving into the very existence of the universe.  Some might call this a drift away from reality.  I call it a deep dive into reality, trying to understand the powerful, mysterious force called the universe.  Is this in the end not the goal of all the religions of the world? By reaching a certain understanding of a larger form of things, one can deconstruct the different facets of life and reconstruct them into this bigger image.

Reasoning the different manifestations of life is not always the way to reach this deep understanding.   Reason alone cannot get you there.   You need your soul.   Never try to understand your soul and what it is doing.   It will take you there.   It is your God, be it a delusion or not.   It is the force we lose as we put on it layers upon layers of false pretensions.    Unmask your soul, and let it go and lead you.    It is an adventure you should take.  The outcome will undoubtedly enhance your sense of who you are and where you stand in this life.

Set your soul free and guard it, for it is your salvation.
